History
Elten was founded as a planned city in <DATE> by <SOME SARDA> as a politically-motivated alternative to the original Sanmran/Garsenian capital of OLD CAPITAL. It was also one of the first town-sized enclaves, an attractive idea at a time when Sanmran government was encouraging enclaves as a means of isolation and protection from humans. At first, the effort was a flop, struggling to maintain a minimum viable population and forced to downsize more than once in its first decade. However, when SOME WAR WITH HUMANS intensified and OLD CAPITAL was burned to the ground along with several other dalar settlements, Elten's population tripled overnight as one of the few enclaves that could support a large population. In the resulting political upheaval, the city naturally became the new capital of Sanmra, and was expanded several times in the following century.
In <DATE>, under attack from <PROBABLY THE MONGOLS>, <A DIFFERENT SARDA> transported the entire enclave through a portal, moving it to its current location in northern Michigan, USA.
